Inserting Links/Bookmarks to another location on same page

You can link from one location on a page to another place on the same page. The destination is called a bookmark. The originating link is called an inpage link.  These are great for "autoscrolling" so user can quickly navigate large pages of text.

  1. Go to the part of the page that needs to be anchored.
  2. Click on the "insert..." combo box, and then "insert link..."
  3. Click on "Create an inpage bookmark"
  4. Enter a bookmark name. eg "bookmark1" and then "create anchor".
  5. Now go to the place you want to link to the bookmark from.
  6. Highlight the text where you want the link to underline.
  7. Click on the "insert..." combo box, and then "insert link..."
  8. Click on "Link to inpage bookmark"
  9. At the link dialogue box, enter your bookmark name from step 3. eg "bookmark1", then "Link Anchor"

Note: If this is for a bookmark on another page, put the #bookmark1 on the end of the url of the destination page using the freeformat URL link option.
